The deal with natural fibers is that there are several layers attached to them which can make it easier for dust and dirt (along with other impurities) to settle in them. That is why you need to make sure that you are vacuuming the carpet regularly so that there is no build up of soil and other impurities in between the various layers of the carpet.

Sisal rugs are not delicate to clean because their natural structure makes the dirt to rest loosely in the weave, but it could be tricky due to its sensitivity to moisture. It is not advisable to leave spot on sisal rug for too long because it would cause the damage to be permanent.

Moisture and humidity can be very hard on sisal. For this reason, a sisal rug should be laid down in a dry place which is unlikely to be subject to spills. It is also important to keep this in mind when you clean a sisal rug. If you clean a sisal rug with a large amount of liquid, the rug may shrink or otherwise distort.
