A solar phone charger can be used to charge a variety of small electronic devices, not just a phone. With the proper adapter, a solar phone charger could also be used to power an MP3 player, a GPS, or a Walkman as well as a standard cell phone.

For such type of solar chargers, generally intelligent charge controllers are used.Some solar chargers also have an on-board battery which is charged by the solar panel when not charging anything else. This allows the user to be able to use the solar energy stored in the battery to charge their electronic devices at night or when indoors.

A solar phone charger is the rage among people that care about the environment. The use of solar power appeals to many users, as plenty of people have a multitude of devices in one room that might need to be charged and not nearly enough outlets to charge them with.
